[She joins in the laughter, shaking her head a little at him.]
I like the more superlative ones.
[Even if she doesn't necessarily always agree. But it helps, a lot of the time, to hear those words. To know there's someone out there who really loves her. Just as she is.]
When you're around, I'm not an orphan. I'm more complete than I've ever been in my life. I'm more than complete. The world can't hold me. [He kisses her temple.] I love you so much I can't wait to get to work because it means I can come home to you afterwards, and coming home to you is the best part of the day. [He kisses her cheek.] I love you so much, you make time vanish. If I could stay with you, like this, forever, I wouldn't feel like I'm missing anything.
[Kissing him hard and firm on the mouth means she doesn't have to respond. Because how can she ever compete with words like that? She's never been as good at them as Peeta. Never been able to mold and craft them to suit her every whim. Not like he can.
But she can express her love in her actions. In the desperate way she kisses him, molds her body to his. And this time, she lets the hunger seize control. She rolls over on the bed, pulling him with her, no longer content with the lazy kisses and caresses from moments ago.]
[Her heart pounds in her chest and her breath comes out in pants. But she manages to whisper back,] I love you, too, Peeta Mellark.
[And then she's kissing him again. Just as hard and just as passionately as before. All the words she can't say aloud are spoken in her kiss. She'd be lost without him, she knows. How could she ever survive in Luceti Valley without her husband by her side?]
[As much as she tends to cover up in bed, she does love that he doesn't. Not as much, anyway. The sweatpants leave his chest bare. Better than any pillow. And she loves being able to roam the planes and crevices without any barrier.
It's wonderful. Something she could keep up all morning. All day, maybe.
But not today. As his hands move down towards her waist, she's remembers. Remembers why she hadn't given in to the hunger earlier. Frustrated hands curl into fists for a moment and then straighten against his hand. She pushes gently, then a little more insistently, as she breaks the kiss.]
Only a few more days. [The words are murmured, caught between pants to catch her breath.] Promise. But not today.
[He makes what is positively the most pitiful sound in the universe and buries his face in the pillow. Great. If that was the case, he needed to stop earlier.]
[It's impossible not to feel guilty when she hears his groan. She shouldn't have let him carry on this far. But she had gotten just as caught up as he had.
She closes her eyes for a moment, sighing. Then, slowly - very reluctantly - she sits in the bed.]
It's okay. [Spoken into the pillow. After a second, he turns his head to the side, facing her.] Let me take a shower and I'll make breakfast like I promised, okay?
[She shouldn't laugh at his discomfort. It's unfair. Especially as she's the cause of it. But a few giggles do escape as she watches him walk away. Buttercup seizes the opportunity to jump on the bed and meow loudly for attention. Gently, she strokes her cat's fur for a few minutes before finally wandering out of bed to get dressed.]

I figured you must be getting tired of hearing the more superlative ones.

[Moving in for her lips now.]

Mmf. Right.

I'm sorry, Peeta.

[A very, very cold shower.]

You don't have to. [A pause.] Make breakfast that is.

I decided on it already. Unless you'd rather make breakfast while I shower.

So she shakes her head quickly, unable to hide her smile.]

I warned you when you proposed.
